24/01/2025, Bowring Institute, Bangalore, India – NUTRICON 2025, hosted at the iconic Bowring Institute in Bangalore, concluded with resounding success. Organized by Ultimate You, a trailblazing nutraceutical brand under Mama’s Creation Private Limited, this landmark event united leaders from the nutrition and healthcare sectors to explore innovations shaping the future of wellness.
The event, presented in partnership with Sagar Chandramma Hospitals and the Indian Association of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (IAPEN), spotlighted emerging trends and cutting-edge advancements in nutritional science. This collaboration underscored the growing synergy between clinical nutrition and consumer wellness, setting a precedent for industry innovation.
The conference opened with a compelling keynote by Namratha Pramod, a High-Performance Analyst at the Sports Authority of India (SAI). Her insights focused on circadian rhythms and chrononutrition, stressing the importance of optimizing eating patterns for health. As per the IFPRI 2025 report, 38% of Indians consume processed foods, leading to disrupted eating patterns and heightened risks of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Chrononutrition, which emphasizes timing, frequency, and regularity of meals, offers a pathway to combat these challenges.
Rinki Kumari, Senior Dietitian at Fortis Hospital, highlighted the critical role of nutrition in recovery from major surgeries such as Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) and hemicolectomy. She explained how tailored nutritional approaches, including total parenteral nutrition (TPN), can significantly enhance patient outcomes. Additionally, she addressed the unique nutritional challenges faced by remote workers, emphasizing the need for stress management through diet.
The discussions were further enriched by Akshith Reddy, Co-founder of Ultimate You, who outlined India’s growing nutritional challenges. He cited findings from the Journal of Nutrition indicating that over 70% of Indians suffer from vitamin D deficiency, while 53% of women experience iron deficiency anemia. With the Indian nutraceutical market projected to reach $18 billion by 2025, Akshith underscored the role of innovative solutions in addressing these deficiencies.
Akshith showcased Ultimate You’s product portfolio, including Ultimate Greens, Glow, Collagen, Fiber, and Daily Whey. These products, designed to address specific nutritional gaps, seamlessly integrate into daily routines. With a growing demand for plant-based proteins and gut health supplements, the brand is leading the way in making science-backed nutrition accessible to all. Akshith’s approach aligns with research from the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, which suggests that simplifying nutritional choices can significantly improve health outcomes.
“In today’s digital age, simplifying food choices is essential. At Ultimate You, we combine modern scientific research with traditional practices to create products that deliver both quality and taste,” Akshith stated.
Sreemathy Venkatraman, Chief Dietitian at Trustwell Hospital, delved into the connection between gut health and hormonal balance. Drawing from an NCBI report, she highlighted how dietary strategies can improve oestrogen metabolism and the gut-brain axis, particularly for women’s health. She emphasized the estrobolome’s critical role in hormone regulation and its potential to enhance overall well-being.
Madhumitha Krishnan, Consultant with CABHN at TDU, advocated for blending Ayurveda with modern nutritional science. She emphasized Ayurveda’s focus on personalized nutrition, digestion (Agni), and constitution (Prakruthi), showcasing its relevance in modern healthcare. According to the World Health Organization, 70–80% of the global population relies on herbal remedies, reflecting Ayurveda’s global significance.
As NUTRICON 2025 came to a close, it set the stage for continued dialogue and innovation in nutritional science. The event highlighted the importance of collaboration in addressing global health challenges and promoting healthier lifestyles.
