Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the leading automobile manufacturer, has announced its ambitious plans to expand its service network with the addition of approximately 350 new workshops across India this year. Partho Banerjee, Executive Director of Service at Maruti Suzuki, shared this information, highlighting the company’s commitment to providing top-notch service to its customers.

The announcement comes as Maruti Suzuki inaugurated its latest service point, NEXA Service in Rampally, Hyderabad. With this launch, the company has surpassed an impressive milestone, reaching over 4,500 service touch points throughout India, a testament to its extensive nationwide presence.

The car service segment witnessed remarkable growth, with a 23 percent increase in the last fiscal year, aligning with the company’s rising sales figures. During the 2022-23 financial year, Maruti Suzuki successfully serviced a staggering 22.3 million cars, achieving its highest-ever number of car services in a single year.

Banerjee emphasized the company’s commitment to expansion, stating that Maruti Suzuki added a new workshop almost every day during the previous financial year. Notably, many of these workshops were established in non-urban markets, reflecting the brand’s dedication to reaching customers across diverse locations. In line with this approach, Maruti Suzuki has plans to add approximately 350 workshops of varying sizes across the country this year, each with its own unique manpower requirements.

Recognizing the evolving needs of its customers, Maruti Suzuki has introduced several new initiatives to enhance service accessibility. The company now offers seven-days-a-week and night service facilities at select workshops, doorstep service, specially designed ‘service on wheels’ units, Maruti mobile support, and quick response teams. These offerings aim to provide customers with maximum flexibility and convenience when availing themselves of the company’s services.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki’s expansive service network employs around 80,000 individuals across its 4,500 service outlets nationwide. In Hyderabad alone, the company operates 62 service outlets, while in Telangana, it boasts 147 outlets. Moreover, Maruti Suzuki has a commendable presence in Hyderabad with a total of 179 service outlets, reaffirming its commitment to serving customers in this region.

Banerjee stressed the importance of service, noting that while sales happen only once, service remains an ongoing and continuous process. To ensure proximity to customers, Maruti Suzuki analyzes car heat maps in specific areas and strategically determines service outlet locations.

Maruti Suzuki has embraced digital transformation to enhance the customer experience, allowing users to conveniently select their preferred service slots through digitized touchpoints. Additionally, the company offers roadside assistance to assist customers in bringing their vehicles to showrooms, with Banerjee emphasizing the significance of regular service in avoiding unexpected breakdowns.
