A two-day multi-industry business mission by Russian export-oriented enterprises took place in New Delhi on October 17 and 18. 30 Russian businesses from various industry sectors held over 230 bilateral discussions with prospective partners.

Attending the plenary session that opened the mission were Trade Representative for Russia in India Aleksandr Rybas, Deputy Trade Representative for Russia in India Yevgeniy Griva, advisor to the Russian Embassy in India Aleksey Afanasyev, representative of the Russian Export Center in India Timur Vekilov, as well as leaders of Indian trade and investment enterprises, experts from customs authorities, and representatives of logistical businesses.

“This is Russia’s biggest commercial mission in the last three years. We are certain that such Russian delegations will continue their work in the future. We are anticipating our Indian partners’ follow-up visits. The Embassy will always offer help to such events, cooperating with the skilled staff of the Trade Mission,” advisor to the Russian Embassy in India Aleksey Afanasyev stated.

“I hope that this mission of Russian companies to India will lay down the framework for new business relations and contracts and that in the future we will be able to objectively assess the groundbreaking path that we have traveled,” trade representative for Russia in India Aleksandr Rybas noted.

The business mission’s purpose is to create and strengthen commercial ties between Indian and Russian business executives. Enterprises from the forestry, chemical, culinary, oil and gas, IT, education, and other sectors participated in the mission. Russian manufacturers presented a variety of products, including athletic facilities, training games, fertilizers, gas, water, and air purification systems, musical equipment and instruments, and industrial equipment.
